If he is as territorial and violent as the rest of the lore paints him as, he likely would have attacked said watchers, and at least some of the corpses would be broken. None of these have so much as thawed, even though we know several teams of watchers went through the area, at least one going into Drakmur's pocket dimension.
Which means that this area was likely frozen while Eksyll was conquering the citadel, meaning that at the very least Hyem was taking advantage of situation to seize control over the area. None of these are warriors, and one is holding the key to an office in the citadel wall belonging to a commander prior to Eksyll's conquest of the citadel. These predate the second crusade, unlike most others slain by gods around the citadel. The spire is littered with corpses frozen solid in mid-activity. This lends credence to the idea that he did not have any fear of the watchers, which wouldn't make any sense unless he was working with them. And yet he's claimed a citadel for himself, and seems to be in no rush to leave.
Considering that the Citadel was crawling with watchers kidnapping any god or mortal they come across, any sane god would have tried to escape immediately. His ability to drain the power from the frigid father implies that he wasn't constrained prior the events of the game for enough time to suck his master dry. This leads me to believe that he is doing this on orders from someone else, and taking into account Reason 1, that someone is likely Eksyll. He appears to be trying to hold Drakmur's warping from spreading, and considering his selfish and brutal descriptions elsewhere, that is a rather selfless action. Hyem sealing the entrance to the place is quite suspect, since we find him dormant in a citadel next to it. This was very likely caused by Eksyll, or at the very least experimented on by him, since we know that he sent at least one team of watchers into it. Drakmur was crated by the infusion of the soul of Arayel the dreamer into an unfortunate human, which created the pocket dimension we fight him in. He might not have been a watcher, but he definitely was in Eksyll's graces (Or at least thought he was, Eksyll has used people before)īefore defeating Hyem, Drakmur's room is sealed off by ice, which thaws after his death. Either Eksyll just didn't care (Unlikely considering his actions elsewhere) or Hyem had Eksyll's approval. This means that there is no way that Eksyll couldn't have known about this happening. Right when Eksyll had total control over the entire citadel. You can't really do that while chained up, meaning that he had to do that in the time between Ekysll seizing the Citadel and the second crusade.
As the Frigid father will tell you, he drained his power from his predecessor. Hyem was not always the top dog of the spire. Reason 1: How he became the lord of the Frigid waste I propose a theory: That Hyem is a part of this order. We know of 5 remaining membersĪnd possibly the rotting crown (Unsure just how much he aided Eksyll before being locked in Moonlights end)
Most of them were Augmented Humans, Brainwashed gods, or crafted beasts. For those of you not in the know, the Watchers are the followers of Eksyll, who helped him storm the citadel and hold it while he experimented on the gods within until they vanished after amassing at the steps of the temple of ascension.
